If you cannot
attend the Polish Bazaar at the Polish Cultural Center, the
Spring Market at Sebi's
is your second chance to get some tasty Polish food and Polish
jewelry on top of it. Pączki, drożdżówki and other pastry from
Viola's Polish Donuts, kielbasa, kabanosy & pierogies from
Sebi's and Polish decor and jewelry from Polka Folk will be
available.

The Spring
Bazaar is an annual event organized by the Polish Women's Club /
Koło Pań. The
booths upstairs offer Polish crystal bowls and vases, amber and
silver jewelry, pottery, crafts, books, Easter eggs and much
more. Downstairs you can enjoy traditional Polish dishes served
by the young waiters clad in Polish folk costumes. You can also
buy home-made desserts and pastries. The Polish Choir Vivat
Musica! will sing at 2:30 pm.

Author Katrina
Shawver will be reading excerpts from her book HENRY - A
Polish Swimmer's True Story of Friendship from Auschwitz to
America in
different WA cities from Bellingham to Olympia. Henry is a story
of Henryk Zguda, a champion swimmer who survived three years in
Auschwitz and Buchenwald as a Polish Catholic political
prisoner.

Szlaga Piano Studio presents an annual piano recital celebrating
music of Frederic Chopin. Ms. Szlaga will
open the concert with Nocturne D Flat, op.27 no.2. The
program includes mazurkas, nocturnes, preludes, waltzes and polonaises by Chopin performed by the
Studio students from 9 to 17 years old. The
Polish Home restaurant is open from 1 to 4 pm.

The UW Polish Studies Endowment Committee invites to a
fundraising dinner, silent auction and lecture supporting its
mission. The lecture Paderewski and the World of Politics will
be presented by Prof. Marek Zebrowski. Dr. Zebrowski is a
Professor at the USC Thornton School of Music and
the Artistic Director of the Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles,
CA. Silent auction, music and cocktails from 5:30 pm, dinner &
lecture at 7 pm. Reservation deadline is February 28, 2018.

The Polish Film
Club Kino OKO
presents a 2007 drama Reserve / Rezerwat,
directed by Łukasz Palkowski. A young photographer rents a place
in a dilapidated tenement house in a bad part of Warsaw and
changes his biased perspective about "backwardness" around him.
This was Palkowski's first movie and it earned him the best
debuting director award at the 2007 Polish FF in Gdynia, and
the movie received both the audience and the journalists' awards
as well.
Evening schedule: 7 pm socializing & film intro, 7:30 pm screening

Memorial Cup / Mały Memoriał Bronisława Czecha is a very popular
event
organized by the Polonia of Vancouver, BC. This ski and
snowboard competition has divisions for children and teenagers
of different ages as well as all-family categories. Bronisław
Czech was a famous Polish skier and a WWII underground courier
over the Tatra Mountains.

Day Party at the Polish Cultural Center |

Ladies only! Please join a celebration of the International
Women's Day and of womanhood at the Polish Home. Reconnect with

The Polish Cultural Center presents an exhibition Unwavering,
Accursed, Restored to Memory about a Polish resistance hero,
Danuta Siedzikówna (1928-1946). During WWII she was a nurse with
the Home Army,
and after the war ended she continued as a nurse in the
anti-communist underground. She was arrested and executed in
what is recognized as one of the judicial killings of the period.

The Center for
Washington Cultural Traditions is throwing a launch party that
includes folk performances, arts and crafts from all over the
world. The gamut runs from Kurdish to Tibetan and from
indigenous Mexican to Senegalese; it also includes a traditional
Polish arts and crafts booth by Alisa Lahti featuring cutouts,
pisanki, head wreaths and more. The center is devoted to
supporting folk traditions of different ethnic communities in
our state.
