Aug 18, noon to dusk: Polish Home Assn. Picnic at the Lincoln Park

This is the main picnic of the summer for the Polish community of Seattle; it is organized by the Polish Home Association. Come and share good food and fun! PHA will supply kielbasa, hotdogs, bigos along with beverages and even ice cream for kids! You can bring a salad or dessert to share. Attractions include signing of songs for the Soldier's Day and friendly games and competitions with awards. Everybody is invited to this great event!

 

Where: at the Lincoln Park in Seattle, shelter #2 or watch for a Polish flag and the PHA banner; admission free, bringing your food is optional, but a dessert to share is welcomed.

Aug  17, 2:45 pm: Movie Monument by J. Szelc at the North Bend FF

The 2019 North Bend Film Fest presents the movie Monument directed by Jagoda Szelc. This 2018 film is a psychological horror about a group of summer interns arriving at a secluded hotel with a very demanding hotel manager. This is the second feature movie by Ms. Szelc; her debut Tower. Bright Day / Wieża. Jasny dzień, won the Best Debut and Best Screenplay awards at the Polish FF in Gdynia in 2017.

Aug 3, 8 pm - 12 pm: Monthly Swing Dance at the Polish Cultural Center

Swing It Saturdays is a new monthly event at the Polish Cultural Center. Come swing dance to live music! Schedule: 7:30-8:15 Pre-dance beginner lesson, 8:15-11:30 Live music with Brad Shigeta's Swingtime Band. This event includes special swing performances from the Swing It Seattle community. No partner or experience needed - come join the fun! The bar will be open upstairs for the event.

 

Where: at the Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski; tickets $15 regular, must be 21+

August: The Polish Cultural Center Closed in August

The Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski will be closed for the yearly summer break in August and will reopen in September after the Labor Day weekend.
