at the Polish Cultural Center |

This is the
yearly New Year's Eve party
organized by the Polish Home Association, featuring a double
ticket: a more formal party at the upper hall with music by DJ
Filip, and a younger crowd party at the lower hall with music by
DJ Wojtek. Sit down dinner at 8 pm, music from 9 pm to 1 am.

Human Identity is an "inventive, funny and eye-opening" one man
show by the Los Angeles-based writer and performer Christopher
Vened. Mr. Vened, born Krzysztof Szwaja, is an actor trained in
the famous Henryk Tomaszewski Pantomime Theatre in Wroclaw,
Poland, where he played many leading roles.

The Polish Home and the
restaurant will be closed for Christmas from Dec 22 till the end
of the year. The last opportunity to have a nice Polish dinner
there is on December 20, 2013. The Polish restaurant opens for
business as usual on January 3, 2014.

is the tradition, the St. Stanislaus Choir will sing
Polish carols at the Festival of Lights at the Grotto
in Portland. The Grotto Festival features dozens choral concerts
and is a wonderful
opportunity to listen to Christmas music from different
countries, including Poland.

This is a Mikolajki
party, organized by the Polish School in Bellevue. The program
includes traditional Jaselka (a Nativity based
performance by the students of the school), a Santa Claus visit,
sharing of Christmas wafers and sweat treats, as well as signing
of Polish carols with live music provided by musician friends
and students. Every child is welcomed!

for a Kenya Orphanage at the Polish Cultural Center |

Rainbow of Magnolia Fountains of
Life & Chopin Academy of Music invite you to a fundraising concert
to build an orphanage and a well in a Masai village in Kenya. The program includes
Beethoven's sonata in D Major, Bach's prelude and fugue
in D Minor, Chopin's scherzo no.1, Liszt's Mephisto
waltz and Prokofiev's sonata no. 2.
Performers include pianists Ivona Kaminska & Christopher Bowlby
as well as star students & award winners Robert Yan, Jay Grinolds,
Arthur Yan, Meili Zhang & Leah Deobald.

reading from her new book The Crooked Mirror: A Memoir of
Polish-Jewish Reconciliation.
Ms. Steinman is a writer whose work frequently deals with
memory, history and reconciliation. The book chronicles her
growing understanding of multiple facets of Polish-Jewish
relationship and appreciation for efforts of contemporary Poles
to remember the past and the common entwined history.

friends of Malgorzata Andrzejowiec invite you to a fundraising
lunch at the Polish Parish. This is a family style lunch /
dinner with the following menu choices: 1) potato pancakes in
Hungarian style w/ pickled cucumbers 2) gulash w/
buckwheat and beets and 3) meat pierogi. Homemade cakes as well
as tea & coffee will also be available. The money goes towards
medical cost related to Mrs. Andrzejowiec's pancreas cancer
treatment. Everybody is invited, additional contributions are
appreciated very much!
