at the Polish Cultural Center |

The yearly New
Year's Eve party at the Polish Cultural Center goes back to the
two-styles formula: the ball with the live music by The
Dogtones
at the upper hall, black tie optional, and a less formal party
with a younger crowd and a music by DJ at the lower floor. Doors open at 7 pm, sit down dinner at 8 pm,
dancing from 9 pm to 2 am. Baby sitting service downstairs from
7 pm to midnight.

$65 per person (members) & $85 (non-members), ticket
includes a dinner & champagne, babysitting

'Tis the season:
the popular wycinanki workshops are back!
Enjoy
the old art of
Polish paper-cutting with artist Alisa Lahti and learn about the
history of this beautiful art form as well as tips and techniques to complete your own wycinanki
projects. Develop your own
design as you learn how to keep everything in one piece! Note
that there are two sessions at the Polish Home and one at the
artist's studio.

on Dec 5 & 19
from 6:30
to 9:30 pm, and at Alisa's art studio in West Seattle on Dec 8, from 10 am
to 12:30 pm (see info below); space is limited, so make a
reservation! $20 fee covers all the materials for

Dec 9, 2:30 pm: St. Nicolas party at
the Polish Cultural Center |

This is another Mikolajki
party for kids, organized by the Polish Cultural Center. There will be a friendly competition for
all children to perform a carol or say a
little poem for awards. A
Santa Claus
visit will be a highlight of the event. The restaurant will be open from
1 pm to 4 pm.

Dec 8, 6 pm: St. Nicolas Party at the Polish School in
Bellevue |

This is a Mikolajki
party, organized by the Polish School in Bellevue. The program
includes traditional Jaselka (a Nativity based
performance by the students of the school), a Santa Claus visit,
sharing of Christmas wafers and sweat treats, as well as signing
of Polish carols with live music provided by musician friends
and students. Every child is welcomed!

PHA Bylaws Discussion at the Polish Cultural Center |

Polish Home
Association in Seattle invites all the PHA members to a
discussion on the draft of proposed changes to the PHA Bylaws.
After the discussion the final proposal will be presented at the
annual PHA meeting for members' approval. Please read the
PHA letter
about the proposed Bylaws changes for more details.

The Seattle Art Museum invites
to Elles: Women Artists from the Centre Pompidou, Paris
exhibition highlighting works by women artists from 1908 to 2007.
Among 75 world artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diana Arbus or
Atsuko Tanaka, there are three Poles: an Art Deco painter Tamara
de Lempicka (1998-1980) and sculptors Magdalena Abakanowicz (82)
& Alina Szapocznikow (1926-1973).
