If you missed it in November, you gotta see it! The PCC Children Theater Biedronka in
Seattle invites to a performance of the classic tale Jas i
Malgosia (Hansel und Gretel).
The classic story line has been enriched with several very
imaginative music numbers performed by a troupe of 15 children.
Directed & designed by Barbara
Strutynski. The performance is in Polish.
Additional attraction - costume competition: Parents, help your
kids to prepare & wear a costume of their favorite tale
character (from any tale). There will be awards for children in costumes in the audience!

This is the annual meeting of the members of the Polish Home
Association. It is also an election meeting for the Board of
Trustees and the PHA Officer positions. PHA members can vote by

Na grobli by Eustachy Rylski published by
Swiat Ksiazki in 2010.
Rylski, 66, is a contemporary writer, playwright and
screenwriter. The book about a famous writer in the era of the People's
Republic of Poland mostly in 1960s &1970s (resembling Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz)
is a treatise about good, evil and being honest. Club
meetings are in Polish.

winner, Jie Yuan. Mr. Yuan, 24, is a very talented Chinese
pianist and a winner of several international competitions; he
is currently studying at the Julliard. His program includes
Chopin's cycle of 24 preludes and other works.

Lagerberg will speak on the present controversy surrounding
Chopin's fatal illness and how that illness influenced Chopin's

from Chopin's music that will help to emphasize some points made
during the lecture.

the old art of
Polish paper cutting. Learn about this beautiful art
form along with tips and techniques to complete your own wycinanki
projects. Materials are included and cutting tools will be
available during the class. Gather some friends for an evening
of fun - bring your creativity, passion and
patience!

The Polish Film Club
in Seattle invites to a screening of The Hourglass Sanatorium
/ Sanatorium pod klepsydra directed by Wojciech Has. This
masterpiece based on prose by novelist Bruno Schultz and
starring Jan Nowicki won the Jury Prize at the Cannes FF in
1973. Wojciech Has is the director of the famous The Saragossa
Manuscript.

book The Long Way Home. Mr. Laskin is a local journalist
who has written several books. The Long Way Home tells the stories of 12
immigrants who fought for their new country during WWI w/
the American Army. Two Polish-American soldiers are featured among
the 12 main characters of the book.

In the Solitude of Cotton Fields directed by Radoslaw
Rychcik with cast from the Stefan Zeromski Theatre in Kielce,
Poland. This innovative play is staged in part like a punk
concert and follows an illicit deal of unknown nature. The
performance is in Polish with English subtitles. Mr. Rychcik is a young director quite famous internationally for his
contemporary staging of musical plays both in Europe and in the
USA.
