Mar 21, 9 am - 4:30 pm: We Are History Keepers! Workshop in Tacoma

This is another edition of the very useful workshop. The Ethnic Heritage Council and the UW Libraries present A Free Workshop on Preserving the Cultural and Historical Record of Our Community. UW archivists/specialists will discuss such how-to topics as preserving historical records, including photographs and papers, and collecting oral histories. Traditional Croatian lunch will be available.

  

Where: Slavonian Hall in Tacoma, WA; admission free, please rsvp for workshop and lunch reservation

Mar 20, from 7 pm: Drama Savior's Square at the Polish Cultural Center

The Polish Film Club Kino OKO presents thedrama Savior's Square / Plac Zbawiciela directed by Krzysztof Krauze. A common happy family buckles under pressure when a financial disaster forces them to live with the in-laws. The movie won the Grand Prix at the 2006 Polish FF in Gdynia and also Best Actress for Jowita Budnik and Best Supporting Actress for Ewa Wencel and also 2007 Eagle awards with Best Movie, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards.

Evening schedule: 7 pm socializing & film intro, 7:30 pm screening.

Mar 15, 4 pm: Student Chopin Recital at the Polish Cultural Center

Marzena Lilian Szlaga Piano Studio presents an annual piano recital celebrating music of Frederic Chopin. Ms. Szlaga will open the concert with TBD. The program includes mazurkas, nocturnes, preludes, waltzes and polonaises by Chopin performed by the Studio students from 9 to 18 years old. The Polish Home restaurant is open from 1 to 4 pm.

Mar 8, 3:30 pm: Story Time Zielone Czytanki at the University Branch Library

Seattle Public Libraries present Story Time in Polish Zielone Czytanki for children 2-5 years old. The program for this event includes: reading from children books, dancing & singing and children games and activities. Each meeting has a specific reading and songs that you can try with your child! This is a monthly event on every second Sunday of the month organized by Ada Kaliszewska.

Mar 7, from 7:30 pm: Swing It Saturday at the Polish Cultural Center

Polish Cultural Center and Swing It Seattle present the monthly Swing It Saturday dance party also featuring workshops and performances. Come swing dance to live music! Event schedule: 7:30-8:15 Drop-in beginner lesson, 8:15-11:15 Live music with Swing 3PO. This event includes special swing performances from the Swing It Seattle community. No partner or experience needed - come join the fun! The bar will be open upstairs for the event.
